Effective July 1, 2021, Northwest Oregon Works has been awarded an Oregon Youth Reengagement Opportunity Grant (ROG) for the second time. The first award (in January of 2021) carried a six-month term and saw the enrollment of over 100 youth across Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties. Designed to flexibly support youth ages 14-21 and reconnect them to education programs, the new grant term has been extended to two years, through June 2023. Northwest Oregon Works has a full-time Student Success coach with a supportive team, and we are in the process of hiring two additional Student Success Coaches. Together, they will collaborate with schools and community colleges, local workforce development boards, and community-based organizations to provide enrolled youth with social, academic, and financial support in reengaging with education and academic goals.
