Adults & Dislocated Workers

Training Scholarships

Northwest Oregon Works invests federal funds in training scholarships for individuals. Targeted for growing and in-demand industries, individuals can access training scholarships through the WorkSource Oregon centers.

Oregon’s Dislocated Worker Program

Oregon’s Dislocated Worker Program offers help to both employers and workers before and during a layoff. If you’re a worker who has been laid off (or notified of an impending layoff) through no fault of your own, we offer free services that prepare you to find new work. If you’re an employer facing a business closure or layoff, we can help you proceed and provide on-site services for your workers. To access these services, you can reach out to NOW’s Dislocated Worker Liaison, your local WorkSource center or we will reach out to you if we are informed of your layoffs or closings.

On-The-Job Training

As an effective service through WorkSource Oregon, NOW invests federal and state funds into the on-the-job training (OJT) program. OJT training provides a service to both job seekers and employers. It provides individuals an opportunity to learn new skills while on the job while offering employers reimbursement for some of the training costs.

Youth Services

Through WorkSource Oregon, young adults can access the services in order to further their education and/or employment goals. These services include but aren’t limited to:
