WorkSource Oregon is the primary system for delivering workforce services to adults and dislocated worker in the five-county area. WorkSource Oregon can help individuals find employment and learn new skills while also assisting business recruit and retain employees. Northwest Oregon Works invests federal funds in training scholarships for individuals. Targeted for growing and in-demand industries, individuals can access training scholarships through the WorkSource Oregon centers.
As en effective services through WorkSource Oregon, NOW invests federal and state funds into the on-the-job training (OJT) program. OJT training provides a service to both job seekers and employers. It provides individuals an opportunity to learn new skills while on the job while offering employers reimbursement for some of the training costs.
Oregon’s Dislocated Worker Program offers help to both employers and workers before and during a layoff. If you're a worker who has been laid off (or notified of an impending layoff) through no fault of your own, we offer free services that prepare you to find new work. If you're an employer facing a business closure or layoff, we can help you proceed and provide on-site services for your workers. To access these services, you can reach out to NOW's Dislocated Worker Liaison, your local WorkSource center or we will reach out to you if we are informed of your layoffs or closings.
